Eight Years of Ebb And Flow: Reflecting on the Journey

Wow, eight years ago today I closed on the purchase of this space that has become Ebb And Flow. It’s hard to believe how much has changed since that day. Looking back through photos brings up so many memories and reminds me just how far this journey has come.

When I first began, I had a vision of creating a space where people could slow down, reconnect with themselves, and feel a sense of belonging. I didn’t know exactly what it would become, but I felt drawn to the possibility of creating something meaningful.

Over the years, that vision has slowly taken shape. The house and retreat space are now fully renovated, weekly yoga classes bring people together, and day retreats and weekend retreats fill the space with opportunities for rest, connection, and growth. I’ve also had the joy of welcoming other retreat leaders who bring their own unique offerings and energy into the space.

What once lived as an idea has become something tangible, and that feels pretty magical.✨

When I reflect on these eight years, I realize it’s never been just about renovating a house or creating a beautiful retreat space. It’s been about building a place where people can gather, share experiences, and feel connected. And I feel incredibly grateful for the local community that has supported this journey and helped Ebb and Flow become what it is today.

Creating something like this takes time. There have been plenty of lessons along the way, and I’ve learned that things don’t always unfold on the timeline we imagine. Sometimes, we have to trust the process, allow our vision to evolve, and keep showing up even when we’re not quite sure what comes next. In many ways, this mirrors the teachings of yoga: learning to be present with where we are, letting go of the need to control every outcome, and finding trust in the unfolding of our lives. Just as in our practice, growth often happens quietly, one breath and one step at a time.💫 𖤓 ૐ 🧘🏻‍♀️ ✧˖° 🪬

So, What's Next?

One dream I’ve carried for a long time is to bring more music into the space. I imagine hosting gatherings for songwriters — a place where musicians can come together to hone their craft, share ideas, learn from one another, and create in an inspiring and supportive environment. 🎶

I love the idea of Ebb And Flow continuing to evolve beyond yoga and retreats, opening its doors to new forms of creativity and connection. Maybe 2027 will be the year this dream begins to take shape. Who knows? For now, I’m still dreaming, planting seeds, and staying open to the possibilities.

Eight years in, I feel proud of what has grown here and deeply grateful for everyone who has been part of the journey. And while so much has come to life, it feels like there is still so much more to explore. 🙏

Perhaps that’s the beauty of creating something you love. It’s never really finished. It continues to grow and change right alongside you.

Here’s to eight years of manifesting a vision of Ebb and Flow, the community that makes it special, and all the dreams still waiting to unfold. 🌿
